A silent launch...

TS Eliot once wrote that the world ended not with a bang but with a whimper and that sounds like a pretty accurate representation too of the launch of my new, sort-of-flashy website.

No fireworks, no expensive viral marketing, no champagne reception in some expensive looking hotel in London, not much noise whatsoever.

The reason for this muted birth? Well, I hope this place will become the electronic home for most of my stories - both short and long, some of my non-fiction writing, some of my book reviews. In fact, I'm hoping that most of the things that I produce in writing that are worth anything (in my opinion at least!) slowly find their way into this humble virtual abode.

So, hold the fanfare, let The Queen wait with her congratulatory missive... This shall be a long and, at points, slightly dull process and I can only hope that some of you make it with me all the way to the end (The End: noun - when I'll be rich and famous and someone else will be dealing with my virtual needs!).

So, hold on to your sombreros and let's go!
